BACKGROUND
The Institute of Ayutthaya Studies was established in 2004. It was developed from the Office of Art and Culture which conserved, promoted and developed local arts and cultures. Also, it provided education and research about the fields. Article seven of the scope of work of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University states that the university promotes the development of local and national wisdom, strengthens learning power, and creates arts and sciences for sustainable growth and stability of the people. Also, it participates in the management, maintenance and utilization of natural resources and the environment in order to ensure balance and sustainability.
Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University founded the Institute of Ayutthaya Studies to facilitate education, research, and studies on History, Archeology, Cultures, Arts, way of life, and local wisdom. The institute also supports higher education, conservation and promotion of Thai art and culture by providing learning resources and information to the society.
